Kidangoor Sree Maha Ganapathy Temple is ideally located on the Ettumanoor-Palai route (Reaching Kidangoor Junction, take turn to Manarkkad route), adjacent to Sree Kidangoor Subramanya Swamy temple, on the banks of Meenachil river in Kottayam Dist.
This temple was constructed by Sri P. K. Parameswaran Nair, a member of Madathil Veedu of Pirayar (Pirayar Kara). Inspired by a vision from Pazhavangadi Sree Mahaganapathy Temple, he built the temple in his hometown in 1995.
He was the guiding light and founder of Varma Group, Trivandrum, and proprietor of Varma Travels, fuel centres, and several Kalyana Mandapams. A devoted follower of Lord Ganesha, he decorated the temple walls with various forms of Ganesha, which is the main attraction for visitors.

Vinayaka Chathurthi Lord Vinayaka’s birthday falls on the chathurthi day of the bright half of the Malayalam month ‘Chingam’. This particular day is marked with great Mahaganapathy Homam, using 1008 coconuts. Besides Unniyappam, Modhakam is also offered to Ganapathy. The other major ceremonies includes Annadanam etc.
